This method covers the determination of evaporation loss of lubricating Greases and oil. A Sample cup in an evaporation cell is placed in an 'Aluminum block' heater and maintained at temperature in the range between 93 and 316 degree Celsius. Heated air is passed over its surface for 22 hours. The evaporation loss is calculated from the loss in weight of the sample.

Evaporation Loss apparatus comprises of :

Four place test unit ( accommodates 4 evaporation cells made of Stainless Steel ), Evaporation cell assembly comprising of : 8 nos. of sample sups (4 for oil, 4 for grease), 4 nos. hood, and 4 nos. of cover along with built-in education tubes, 4 nos. thermocouples and capillaries (SS), 8 nos. of O-rings and TFE Gaskets.

4 place aluminium block heater fully insulated with the required (ASTM specified ) hot air flow/ circulation system along with 4 flow meters providing DRY hot air flow of 2 liters/min.

PID ( microprocessor controlled) temprature indicating controller for variable temprature controls ( accuracy ± 0.1 ° C) covers low and excess temprature protection.

Built-in heating device : (catalog #17-0395) specially designed ceramic band heater that wraps around the Aluminum block of 2000 watts in addition to a cast iron hot plate of 1000 watts for heating the aluminum block from bottom.
Temperature range: ambient to 350 °Celcius
  Voltage : 220V/ 50 hz ( 110 volts also available)

Optional Accessories:

17-0395 Specially designed ceramic band heater that wraps around the Aluminium Block 2000 watts.
